Futuroscope is an amazing park filled with exhibits
celebrating science and technology. It specialises in
catering to all ages, and has exhibits simulating everything
from skydiving to space walking! There is plenty to
see and do and really aims for fun and education.
It is located near Poitiers, so about an hour and a
half away from the Chateau.
Sounds strange, but celebrates volcanoes and offers
exhibits like “Journey to the centre of the Earth!”
It also has a new timely exhibit about Mars, and has
workshops for children aged between 6 – 12 years
old. Children are treated as “explorers”
here, and it’s pretty atmospheric due to the surrounding
impressive volcanoes of the area!
Vulcania is in the Auvergne, and will take about an
hour and three quarters from the Chateau, but the scenery
on the way is amazing.
Le Splash d’Argentat
This is a large water park with slides, pools etc. They
also offer kayak lessons and have good picnic facilities.
Le Parc du Reynou
Our children love this park! It is a huge safari park,
where the animals all look happy, and the number of
baby animals there shows they are successful. Last summer
we fed the giraffes, and enjoyed the walks tremendously.
The park is about a 30 minute drive from us.
An adventure style amusement park with water slides
as well as other rides, go-karting and a petting zoo. It is unsophisitcated fun, without queues, and great for younger children.
The Park is just outside Limoges, so convenient for
Parc D'Arbre En Arbre
A set of fantastic tree-top assault courses for children and adults alike, on the edge of the stunning Lake Vassiviere. Height restrictions apply.
A new local version of the tree-top adventure, with more for younger children. Only a 15 minute drive from the Chateau
Cité des Insectes
A whole little zoo just for insects - everything you ever wanted to know and lots more beside! Located near Lake Vassiviere.
